DO UNTO OTHERS ...
Not a big deal, but I thought this was interesting. I contacted Viacom Outdoors about advertising the Local Area Watch on billboards in the Grand Rapids area. This is the response I received:
"Thank you for your call regarding rates and availability on billboards in the Grand Rapids area to promote Local Area Watch. I did go to your website, after discussing with my General Manager, Based on Viacom Company policy, we cannot advertise those that make derogatory remarks against individuals, or organizations."
Viacom? Hmm. Isn't that the company that owns CBS, the network that had Dan Rather broadcasting false information disparaging the character of George Bush? Now I get their policy, folks. The problem with the Local Area Watch is that our information critical of local bigwigs is true.
